Engagement in Missions is an integral part of the life and ministry of Alexandria Presbyterian Church. Within the first year of APC’s founding, the congregation began supporting a missionary family serving abroad. That commitment to support those in the mission field has deepened over the years through steady financial support, regular communication and prayer. For 2015, more than 21% of the church’s budget is committed to the support of missionaries in Africa, Asia, Eurasia, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and the United States, as well as various mission-related needs within its denomination, the Presbyterian Church in America; and church planting network.
The overseas ministries respond to the needs of the church in restricted societies, train and equip national church leaders, and are engaged in church planting in secularized societies, Muslim countries and the Latin culture. The men and women engaged in the United States primarily focus on training and equipping those on the mission field, outreach to university students who are from other cultures, youth who have spent little or no time in a church community, and young expectant mothers who are in need of a support network.
APC presently supports 12 domestic and 14 overseas missionaries, including three serving in countries too sensitive to mention and hostile to the Gospel. If you have access to our Member Area, you may view profiles and pictures of each missionary.
