Matt Coombs

Matt grew up in upstate New York. Matt served in the Navy for 22 years holding various leadership, management, and administrative positions in addition to being a P-3 pilot. He met his wife, Katie, in the same church he became a Christian in and while he was in flight training. They married in September of 2000 and have four children. Throughout his career in the Navy, they have had the opportunity to live in many unique places. They have lived in Alexandria and been APC members since 2012.

Matt is excited, blessed, and humbled to have joined the APC staff in 2021 and have the opportunity to serve God and to serve others. In his role as Executive Director of Ministries, he acts as the “chief of staff”, serving in the leadership and direction of church staff, in the recruiting and overseeing of volunteer ministry leaders, and in leading the operations necessary for the accomplishment of the church’s mission.
