Matt and his wife Robyn have been married for 21 years and love calling Northern Virginia home. They enjoy spending time together as a family, especially camping, hiking, and biking. Matt is originally from Cleveland, Ohio, and in his free time enjoys live music (especially jam bands), gardening, great novels, and just about any kind of board game.

Matt has spent the past 22 years serving in youth ministry at two different churches, where he has had the privilege of walking alongside teenagers and their families through some of the most formative years of their lives. Before coming to APC, he also spent four years teaching middle school language arts in Southeast Washington, DC.

Matt earned a Bachelor’s degree in English with a minor in Psychology from Allegheny College and a Master’s degree in Teaching from George Fox University.
